P-Diddy's B-Day party in Sydney

On Wednesday we started out trip to Sydney, because I wanted to be there for my birthday. We stopped at Wilson promontory national park, lakes entrance, batemans bay and Jervis bay.

Arriving in Sydney we parked the van and took a bus to the CBD. I finally reunited with Tovi, my Belgian friend who is also in Australia for 3 months. Antwerpen!! She showed us around along harbour bridge, the opera house and the botanic garden.  In the evening we got together with 2 guys from knokke to start P-diddy’s B-day party!!! The night started boring looking for a good bar/club. But after some walking we arrived at a bar with a jukebox and vodka cola’s for 4dollar. I succefully asked for a free B-day shot and the place started to get on fire!! We all had a really amusing evening, and a less great morning after...

On Sunday we had a lazy day ending at Boogee beach for a bbq.
Tovi and me went on a day trip to the blue mountains. We first did a tour at the jenolan caves with 45 Indians. It was not as spectacular as we expected and the katoomba falls also couldn’t surprise us. Was it the fault of nature or was there still to much alcohol in our blood? The three sisters which attract each year thousands of tourists were just 3 little rocks pointing out. We’re glas we saw it we guess, but would’t really catogarise it as a highlight in Australia. Although, now I see the pics again, I'm guessing I'm just getting spoiled. :-)

We had been hoping for some great weather for the Christmas festival at Bondi. Unfortunately it rained all day. The days after weather were better and went to Coogie couple more times.

Off course the highlight of Sydney is New Year:  we gathered some Belgian, Holland & French friends and at lunchtime we laid down our towels at kiribilli which gave us a view on the harbor bridge and the opera house. I admit that at the end of the countdown I got some goosebumps. After all I made it to Australia, to Sydney, to the world’s greatest new year’s eve firework in Sydney Australia, OMG I am here in, I’m doing it!

Maria and Jonathan, two German friends also arrived in Sydney and I met them the day after. We found a great free camping spot in Alexandria park, a peaceful neighborhood. We went together to the beach, some museums, had a drink 47 levels high in the 360° turning bar, went partying in Yvi, walked from Bondi to Coogie, hanged around in subway too much for some wifi, made some great curry rice, tortellini and laughed a lot.

But holidays behind us and still thousands of kilometers of east coast to discover I made the plan go to Byron Bay with Sam & Louis from Belgium and another French and English friend.
